First day of school

Today was another big milestone in the Kuhlman household.  It was the first day of school, yes, but our oldest started Middle School today.  It seems like just yesterday I was taking him to his first day of preschool.  Where does the time go?? 

Our younger one is now in 3rd and couldn't be more thrilled.  He is the most excited he has been about going to his first day in a long time.  It was so heart-warming to see him just beam about getting read to learn.  Of course, I had to take the obligatory first day of school photos.  We did one nice one and then they wanted to do their "peace our" pose!

Our new family member

I realized that I have not posted anything about our new little family member.  We got JD from a rescue shelter on July 2nd.  He is almost two years old and we are his first family.  JD is a Bichon/Poodle mix.  When we got him he was skittish and scared.  He didn't even know how to climb stairs.  Just a little more than a month later, he lets us walk up and pet him rather than skittering away.  He also is quite good at stairs and follows me up and down them all the time.  We have started taking him out in the yard without a leash and he loves the freedom to run and play.  Today I went out and took some photos of him as he ran and had fun.  He has brought so much joy and happiness into our house and we love our new little treasure!

Nature in the City

Sometimes I find that when I want to do some nature photography, that can be a little difficult living in the city.  Lately, though, I have realized that I need to take a look at the little things around me.  Here are some fun shots that I took when I was in Omaha and a couple from around our house.  Enjoy!

 


 
  
 
 
 

 
  

Turning 1 is so much fun!

I have been so busy that I haven't had time to update here lately.  So, I hope to do several this week and get caught up.  I have several different things to share.

This little guy is an absolute doll!  It is so evident how much he is loved.  It just oozes out of him in the smiles for his mom and dad.  Truth be told, it is one big mutual admiration society!  There is such a warm feeling with this little guy.

We had a beautiful evening for our photo shoot and there were lots of smiles all the way around.  I had a terrible time narrowing it down, so there are quite a few here.  The innocence and joy just shines!
